SBT THE POW — One of the Widest Powder Boards for Snowscoot
The 2027 snowscoot season is getting closer, and we are starting to update our board information again.
Today we are introducing one of the widest snowscoot boards available: SBT THE POW by Snow Bike Tech.
With a width of over 350mm, THE POW is a board that immediately makes you stop and look twice. Even in the snowboard world, boards over 350mm wide are not common. For snowscoot boards, this size is even more special because producing such a wide board requires extra material, molds and factory capability.
Wide Shape for Powder Float
THE POW has a relatively low front rocker, but the board gets its flotation from its massive width.
The tail rocker is also low, which helps keep more effective edge on groomed snow. Because of this design, THE POW is not only a powder board. When controlled properly, it can also carve surprisingly well on packed snow and groomed slopes.
In Japan, rider Igarashi recorded the fastest time in a slalom contest while riding this powder board. That result showed that THE POW is not just about floating in deep snow — it can also turn, grip and run fast on hardpack.
Powder Board, But Still Rideable on Groomers
One of the unique things about snowscoots is that even larger boards can be controlled through the handlebar and frame movement.
For riders who are already comfortable on a snowscoot, THE POW can be a very fun all-round board: big float in powder, stable cruising on open slopes and strong carving potential on groomed snow.
If you love deep snow but still want to enjoy the whole mountain, this board is a very interesting option.
Compatible with Classic and Modern Mounting Pitch
THE POW comes with multiple mounting holes.
It supports the classic 385mm mounting pitch, which has been used on many snowscoot frames since the 1990s. It also has short-pitch mounting holes for both front and rear boards, making it compatible with Snow Bike Tech frames and modern AR-series short-pitch setups such as 265mm.
This makes THE POW useful for riders who want to install a wide powder board on both older snowscoot frames and newer short-pitch frames.
Easy Maintenance Extruded Base
THE POW uses an extruded base to keep the price reasonable.
An extruded base is easy to maintain and keeps good glide performance without requiring constant waxing. For riders who want a fun and practical powder board without complicated maintenance, this is a big advantage.
