Snowscoot Frame Swap: From a 2000s Style to the AR ver4.2

Today, a customer visiting from another prefecture brought in their Snowscoot for a frame swap. From a 2000s Style model with a powder guard to the AR ver4.2! We handled the fitting and parts setup here in the shop.

The red Style has a steel fork and a powder guard. Tough, but a little on the heavy side...

After the swap and parts setup, the weight dropped from about 7 kg to about 3.5 kg! Both setups in the photos were weighed with the handlebar and boards removed.

Carbon spacers save weight around the headset, while the ZUTTO headset adds height. A top-load stem keeps the riding position close to the old Style, so the controls feel familiar.

Titanium bolts and EVA foam on the deckless frame help keep the weight down.

For the strap, we used the Simple Fit Strap. Strong and simple. It supports your feet firmly while keeping things light.

With the right combination of boards and components, a complete AR can weigh in the 7 kg range. The customer was happy with the result!

The scratched-up Style frame has the presence of a machine that has been ridden well. Snowscoot frames are tough, and restoring one with carefully chosen parts is another part of the fun.

And the silver AR... it just looks so good!
